Why train jodo?

We can say that in the beginning the techniques of jo were created to be used and to be functional in combat, training had as its main focus to serve in fights.

Today, we practice the same techniques as then, but with a different purpose, we do not train to be able to defeat a swordsman in battle, but - to train intuitive action, - to remain calm in stressful situations - balance, harmony and concentration, - for a general interest in Japan, Japanese history, Japanese weapons, and - of course, for the sake of exercise.
